3D Digital Backup Protection of Valuable Fine Art Sculpture or Heritage Artefacts
Creating a high-resolution 3D digital backup of a valuable sculpture or artefact is a great way to protect against unforeseen accidents, damage or even theft. Hence, we have previously been retained to create virtually identical looking copies (display reproductions) of various priceless historical artworks and rare artefacts, that are often on public display in museums or fine art collections.
We achieve this using a high-resolution 3D scan file t to create a virtually exact digital 3D replica. We then use the same 3D digital file to create a virtually exact physical model using the very latest 3D laser printing technologies, which can be accurate up to a staggering ’16 microns resolution’ (one sixteenth thousandth of a millilitre!!!) , where required (Example Link).
